East Ayrshire Council and Ayrshire Roads Alliance have issued a notice today regarding the occasional road closure of Glaisnock Street and it's junction with Ayr Road to facilitate the repairs to the building on Glaisnock Street.
The Notice comes in to force from 1st October 2022 to 23rd May 2023.
When the road is closed the alternative route will be: Diversion via Ayr Rd, New Bridge St, Tanyard, Barrhill Rd, Drumbrochan Rd and Townhead St. The closure will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed as work takes place.
The Notice reads:
(Glaisnock Street and Ayr Road, Cumnock) (Temporary One-way Operation and Banned Left Turn) No.3 Order 2022
The Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order that continues the restrictions imposed by East Ayrshire Council (Glaisnock Street and Ayr Road, Cumnock) (Temporary One-way Operation and Banned Left Turn) Order No.2 2022, whilst contractors work on an adjacent building:- One-way Traffic Glaisnock St, Cumnock (from Townhead St to Ayr Rd), in a south-easterly direction.
Alternative Route: Diversion via Ayr Rd, New Bridge St, Tanyard, Barrhill Rd, Drumbrochan Rd and Townhead St.
No Left Turn Ayr Rd, Cumnock into Glaisnock Street.
The Order is in force from 00:01 hrs on Saturday 1 October and the restrictions are expected to remain in place until 23rd May 2023 and will be implemented only when the appropriate signs are displayed.
